
Bookending Twilight Processes
Upon awakening, while you are still in the twilight of your dream state and before your brain kicks into gear, start appreciating everything you can think of. Appreciate your pillow, your bed, the sleep you just had, whatever dreams you had that you want to enjoy, whoever is in bed with you - animal or human, the softness of your covers, your body as you stretch it, the sun coming up, etc. In other words, whatever comes to mind that feels good to think about. (I like to keep my eyes closed for as long as possible in order to fully savor the feelings.)
After which, you can start setting intentions for the day ahead, e.g., I am so looking forward to this day, I wonder what new and interesting people I will meet and the smooth and easy way it will unfold?, I know that my drive/commute today will be easy, All the other drivers (or fellow passengers, travelers) will be competent and careful, I am going to smile often and not sweat the small stuff, I am going to anticipate synchronicities and delightful rendez-vous. Oh, I wonder what fun and surprises await? (You’ll find that the more you practice this process, the more interesting and varied ideas will come to you.)
This simple Twilight Awakening Process will feel really, really good while you are doing it and all it takes is a few minutes of deliberately creating. The exponential result is that you now can launch yourself into your day ahead from an upper echelon energy and frequency.
I mean really, if you have the ability to create a positive vibrational launching pad that will work to attract more up-level people, circumstances and events, why not give it a go?
Now go forth and conquer Creator…
While in bed, during those precious moments before drifting off to sleep, take the time to contemplate the past day's events. I like to start from the beginning of my day and recount my memories in the order that they occurred from morning on, as I sort through all the delightful encounters, successes, rendez-vous, surprises, anything that is worth revisiting and feeling fully again, before I doze off.
Then, if you are still awake, you can set the frequency for the next day by asking The Universe for a peaceful sleep, to awaken refreshed and for the unfolding of a smooth day ahead as well as anything else you might want to add. (You’ll find that the more you practice casting your positive vibration forward, the more ideas will come to you that you can add to your list.)
Side Note: This is one of my all time favorite exercises. When I take the time to remember all the wonderful things that made up my day, I am ALWAYS blown away by how much good happens to me and the wealth of the seemingly small things that would have escaped my purview, had I not taken the time to remember and savor them.
Another bonus is that not only does the process feel really good, but by deliberately setting high expectations to wake up into, you tee yourself up for waking up in a high-vibing zone from which to launch into your day.
In other words, She (he) who goes to bed in in their Sweet Spot, wakes up in her/his Sweet Spot!
Moral of the story - Don’t pass up the opportunity to go to sleep without setting something good in motion. It’s a small exercise that reaps really big rewards.
